Project description

The project aims to improve the integrity and accountability of public institutions in Slovakia and Ukraine. Participatory processes of strategic project planning involve the general public. This approach, together with the provision of all available information used in the project, will ensure that the proposed measures at project output will be more effective and cheaper than in the case of "central and directive" planning. If the public is informed, bad and expensive solutions can be avoided. The project aims to better prepare the border regions of Ukraine and Slovakia for expected climate change by developing an adaptation strategy for climate change for the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine and applying it in pilot activities. The project will also increase the readiness to implement effective measures in public transport for the city of Uzhhorod by developing a model of sustainable transport, using the experience of the Košice and Prešov regions. Another goal of the project is to increase the availability of information on climate change and the need for measures to mitigate its negative impact.
